  1. I’m not usually a fan of these Marvel events, but this is one hell of an issue. The battle between Sentry and Ares is one for the ages. And Thor vs. Daken to end the issue is not to be missed.

  2. Yeah. That was a really good issue.

So far it looks like SIEGE is going to be better then Secret Invasion and Dark Reign combined. I’m liking it even more then World War Hulk and CIVIL WAR.

  3. So far it’s just been one big battle which is kind of a nice change of pace actually. I will be happy to watch the ‘Avengers’ getting killed off. That said I was a bit disappointed that this was not a more open event like some of the others. IE It’s purely Avengers types. No FF, no X-Men, no independent heroes or anything else. I would have liked a bit broader of a scope, a united Marvel.

  4. Sometimes Marvel makes head scratching decisions. Secret Invasion could have been wrapped up 2 issues earlier, Siege should be extended 2 issues more. I mean an assault on Asgard I think deserves more push. The amount of action that can be implemented is astounding. The flipside is that it forces Bendis to get on with it since he does have a horrible tendency to draw it out. But this is an Avengers centric story about them reclaiming their place in the pantheon so I have no issue with them keeping it kinda contained.

But like you I like when heroes are united. The Onslaught: Marvel Universe splash page of the heroes helping the X-Men remains like my favorite splash page in history, despite the actual story and also despite noseless Wolverine. Hopefully the ‘Heroic Age’ will bring those types of unities back

  5. Well it’s only four issues which is a big relief on my end. I remember Secret Invasion dragging on and on all summer long, it felt like the end would never be reached. With SIEGE it’s actually going at a very smooth pace, which is a very nice change for me.
